BAAN THAI – THE CONCEPT

Baan Thai Institute is one of the firsts to import the Thai traditions to Marrakech. A unique and authentic place that offers real traditional Thai massages performed by certified and qualified Thai practitioners, some of them have graduated from the famous Wat Po School in Bangkok. Within this Spa’s warm welcome resides something else than real Thailand. 16 massage and treatment spaces are spread over 650 m2 divided by two floors and a roof with panoramic view on the Atlas Mountains. Bridgitte Loudet, the place’s owner who is herself a graduate of Wat Po, had the right touch to decorate the place with taste and refinement. All along her multiple trips to that country she is particularly fond of, she has brought back sculpture made in Thailand, statues, fabric and diverse objects that strengthen the sensation of being far, far away from Marrakech. The Spa suggests many traditional massages with warm oils, pads, 4 hands or feet reflexology, and are performed by 23 Thai professional practitioners, but also classic and oriental esthetic treatments for the face and body performed by 8 estheticians. Massages are performed following a specific ancestral protocol and are true custom made treatments with oils and therapeutic balms that are sold in the pharmacy around the temples in Thailand. The gestures are slow, the pressures mastered and delicate, and the moves are successive with a dexterity and a light subtlety to free tensions and the mind. A true temple dedicated to relaxation and wellness, this authentic Thai massage parlor plunges us in a magical multi-sensorial world, from which we emerge relaxed but not asleep, muscles softened and mind serene. A real temple dedicated to relaxation and wellness, this authentic Thai massage salon immerses us in a magical multisensory world, from which we emerge relaxed but not asleep, muscles relaxed and a peaceful mind.
